Opportunity Overview
The South African Revenue Services (SARS) invites skilled professionals to join its team. This position focuses on the Large Business & International (LBI) Sector within Financial Services. The successful candidate will be part of a team that aims to close the tax gap in this sector and maintain compliance levels through effective and efficient revenue yield.
Minimum Requirements
- Qualification: B. Comm (Hons) in Taxation, Commerce, or Law.
- Experience: 10-12 years' experience in managing and leading multi-disciplined teams, servicing and engaging corporate and multinational tax entities in the financial services sector, managing operations, and managing top-line growth.
- Management Experience: Of the total experience, 3-4 years must be at management level.
- Industry Expertise: Tactical business strategy and business experience in the financial services sector and industry, specifically in Banking, Insurance, Investment & Asset Management, Capital Markets & Securities, Financial Advisory & Intermediary Services, or FinTech (Financial Technology).
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate a tactical strategy and delivery plans for the LBI Financial Services Sector to ensure effective revenue yield and compliance.
- Provide direction for preparing risk assessments and audits.
- Analyse the revenue strategy to match environmental revenue potential with internal resource deployment.
- Develop detailed revenue plans for the sector to anticipate revenue.
- Lead the team to increase compliance levels and manage the LBI Sector for maximum results.
- Manage interfaces with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide direction, guidance, technical support, mentoring, and training to subordinates.
- Ensure alignment with new operational modes within the Sector and LBI.
- Use insights from integrated business reports to measure success and realign tactical strategy.
- Recommend changes to optimise processes, systems, policies, and procedures, and direct the implementation of change.
- Develop tactical strategy and delivery plans in partnership with leadership.
- Direct, control, coordinate, and optimise budgeted resources to meet objectives.
- Ensure the development and implementation of multiple practices in alignment with operational frameworks.
- Identify and recommend opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Plan work outputs, coordinate interdependent activities, and specify priorities, standards, and procedures.
- Proactively identify interconnected problems, determine their impact, and develop best-fit alternatives.
- Provide periodic reports on performance against plans and progress on short-term initiatives.
