Opportunity Overview

The South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) invites applications for a 12-month internship programme within its Information Technology division. This opportunity is designed to provide practical experience and exposure to the IT operations of a regulatory body.

The programme offers an annual stipend of R7 280. SAPC is committed to diversifying its workforce and encourages applications from suitable candidates from designated groups and individuals with disabilities.

Minimum Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related qualification.
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office package.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software.
  • Provide technical support to staff, diagnosing and resolving IT-related issues.
  • Provide support in maintaining and troubleshooting the network, server, and hardware infrastructure.
  • Conduct research on new technologies and recommend improvements to enhance the IT infrastructure.
  • Assist in data analysis, reporting, and dashboard creation to support data-driven business decisions.
  • Support with the configuration, monitoring, and user management of Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange, SharePoint, Intune, and Teams.
  • Assist in implementing and monitoring security measures to protect SAPC data and IT systems.
  • Contribute to the design, coding, testing, and documentation of internal software tools and applications.
  • Support with the implementation and enforcement of IT policies, compliance processes, and project management.
  • Assist in providing technical support and troubleshooting the telephony system, including IP phones, PABX, and voicemail services.
  • Report to the Manager Information Technology on all matters regarding key performance areas.
