SABS is seeking an Operator: Laboratory Services to join their team in Pretoria, Gauteng. This role is fundamental to optimising the day-to-day operations of the laboratory, ensuring that clients receive effective and efficient service. Minimum Requirements

• A Diploma or Advanced Certificate (NQF Level 5) in a relevant scientific related field.
• 1-2 years of work experience within a scientific environment.
• A valid Driver’s Licence is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for analysis following standard operating procedures.
• Ensure samples are correctly packed and classified according to laboratory protocols.
• Accurately track samples and conduct sampling analysis as instructed.
• Collect and transport samples from various sites as required.
• Receive, register, and prepare test samples in the laboratory or onsite.
• Monitor environmental testing conditions and report any deviations.
• Develop and carry out preventative maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
• Report faulty equipment and apply basic troubleshooting.
• Assist in identifying and adhering to fraud controls, risk prevention, and compliance processes.
• Provide evidence for internal and external audit requirements.
• Maintain quality risk management standards in line with ISO, Accreditation, and regulatory requirements.
• Build and maintain effective internal and external stakeholder relationships.
