Opportunity Overview

South African Breweries (SAB) offers a brewing-and-packaging learnership at its Alrode brewery, developing operators for one of the country’s largest beverage manufacturers.

This learnership is based in Alrode, Gauteng (Gauteng) and falls under the FoodBev SETA — Food & Beverage Manufacturing, leading to a NQF Level 4 qualification. A monthly stipend is provided: R5 500 – R6 500 / month.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum qualification: Grade 12 / Matric
• South African citizen with a valid ID
• Aged 18–35 (youth programme)
• Currently unemployed and not on another funded programme
• Clear criminal record
• Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science
• Willing to work shifts

Key Responsibilities

During this learnership you will:

• Learning brewing, packaging and utilities operations
• Monitoring process parameters and product quality
• Applying food-safety and SHE standards
• Supporting line efficiency and basic maintenance
• Completing NQF 4 manufacturing assessments

Stipend & Benefits

Successful candidates receive a monthly stipend of R5 500 – R6 500 / month for the duration of the programme, on-the-job mentorship, and a nationally recognised NQF Level 4 qualification on successful completion.
