Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Grade 12 certificate.
- A Legal Secretary Diploma, Secretarial Diploma, or an equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Legal Secretary or within a legal administrative environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- A paralegal qualification will be considered an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of duties, including but not limited to:
- Provide secretarial and administrative support to the Legal Department.
- Draft, type, format, and proofread legal correspondence and other legal documents.
- Manage diaries and schedule meetings for the department.
- Prepare meeting packs, compile agendas, and take minutes as necessary.
- Open, maintain, and ensure the proper archiving of legal files.
- Receive, accurately record, and distribute all incoming and outgoing legal correspondence.
- Liaise effectively with both internal staff and external stakeholders.
- Uphold strict confidentiality regarding all legal information.
- Perform various general office administration tasks as required.
