Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum qualification: Grade 12 / Matric
  • South African citizen with a valid ID
  • Aged 18–35 (youth programme)
  • Currently unemployed and not on another funded programme
  • Clear criminal record
  • Grade 12 (Mathematics/Physical Science advantageous)
  • Medically fit for underground work (red-ticket)

Key Responsibilities

During this learnership you will:

  • Completing underground safety and induction training
  • Learning rock-breaking, support and cleaning operations
  • Operating basic mining equipment under supervision
  • Applying mine health-and-safety legislation (MHSA)
  • Completing NQF 3 mining assessments and practical evaluations

Stipend & Benefits

Successful candidates receive a monthly stipend of R6 500 – R8 000 / month for the duration of the programme, on-the-job mentorship, and a nationally recognised NQF Level 3 qualification on successful completion.
