Opportunity Overview

The Shoprite Group, Africa’s largest food retailer, offers a W&RSETA-accredited retail management learnership across Shoprite, Checkers and Usave stores nationwide, leading to an NQF 4 qualification.

This learnership is based in National (All Provinces) (National (All Provinces)) and falls under the W&RSETA — Wholesale & Retail, leading to a NQF Level 4 qualification. A monthly stipend is provided: R4 000 – R5 000 / month.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum qualification: Grade 12 / Matric
• South African citizen with a valid ID
• Aged 18–35 (youth programme)
• Currently unemployed and not on another funded programme
• Clear criminal record

Key Responsibilities

During this learnership you will:

• Rotating through frontline, receiving and merchandising departments
• Delivering excellent customer service at point of sale
• Supporting stock control, replenishment and pricing accuracy
• Learning shrinkage control and loss-prevention basics
• Completing NQF 4 retail assessments and supervisory tasks

Stipend & Benefits

Successful candidates receive a monthly stipend of R4 000 – R5 000 / month for the duration of the programme, on-the-job mentorship, and a nationally recognised NQF Level 4 qualification on successful completion.
