Opportunity Overview

RCL Foods offers a FoodBev SETA-accredited food manufacturing learnership at its KwaZulu-Natal facilities, training youth in safe, hygienic processing of food products.

This learnership is based in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal (KwaZulu-Natal) and falls under the FoodBev SETA — Food & Beverage Manufacturing, leading to a NQF Level 3 qualification. A monthly stipend is provided: R4 500 – R5 500 / month.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum qualification: Grade 12 / Matric
• South African citizen with a valid ID
• Aged 18–35 (youth programme)
• Currently unemployed and not on another funded programme
• Clear criminal record
• Grade 12 (Mathematics/Science advantageous)
• Willing to work shifts

Key Responsibilities

During this learnership you will:

• Operating food-processing and packaging lines under supervision
• Applying food-safety (HACCP) and hygiene standards
• Monitoring quality checkpoints and recording data
• Supporting line changeovers and basic cleaning
• Completing NQF 3 food-manufacturing assessments

Stipend & Benefits

Successful candidates receive a monthly stipend of R4 500 – R5 500 / month for the duration of the programme, on-the-job mentorship, and a nationally recognised NQF Level 3 qualification on successful completion.
