Opportunity Overview

PathCare Academy is inviting applications for the Phlebotomy Technician Learnership commencing in 2027. This opportunity is open to individuals who are responsible, respectful, have a strong work ethic, and are focused on customer service.

This learnership combines theoretical training with practical experience. Theoretical lessons will be conducted at one of PathCare Academy's three campuses, while practical training will be offered at various PathCare Laboratories and depots located across South Africa.

Minimum Requirements

• National Senior Certificate (NSC) Grade 12 pass with:
• Life Science/Biology ≥ 50% or HBM ≥ 60%
• AND Mathematics ≥ 40% or Math Literacy ≥ 60%
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
• Ability to read, write, and understand basic Afrikaans
• Capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Ability to perform under pressure and commit to rigorous study
• Possess a well-developed work ethic
• Willingness to collect and/or process blood and body products
• Ability to provide excellent service and be responsive to customer needs
• Willingness to work shifts and after hours as required
