Opportunity Overview

Nedbank is inviting applications for its Quants Exploration Graduate Programme, based in Johannesburg. This programme is specifically designed to develop highly skilled Quantitative Analysts.

Participants will contribute to enhancing Nedbank's risk management capabilities by assisting in the development and maintenance of best practice models and assessment strategies, in line with relevant regulations. This is an opportunity to grow expertise within the financial sector.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must hold an NQF Level Undergraduate Degree.
  • A postgraduate degree (Honours or Masters) with majors in Pure Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Econometrics, Financial Engineering, Quantitative Risk Management, or a similar field is preferred.
  • A Business Related Degree is also preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and recommend improvements for business processes, models, and systems.
  • Actively participate in Nedbank Quants Training Programme committees, such as marketing, recruitment, and social committees.
  • Engage with business units through face-to-face interaction and committee attendance to meet business needs.
  • Extract and analyse data to assist the business in addressing queries.
  • Document and record processes and models to ensure continuity and build a knowledge base.
  • Analyse and monitor data to ensure compliance with policy.
  • Communicate effectively to bridge the gap between operational and analytical concepts.
  • Identify training courses and career progression paths to improve personal capability and stay updated in the field.
  • Share knowledge and industry trends with the team.
  • Participate in Nedbank culture-building initiatives.
