Opportunity Overview

The Education Labour Relations Council (ELRC) is a statutory council established under the Labour Relations Act, No 66 of 1995. It operates within the Public Education Sector, providing essential services to the Department of Basic Education, various Trade Unions, and educators across South Africa.

The ELRC is inviting suitably qualified and unemployed South African graduates to apply for its Internship Programme. This programme offers a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience over a period of twenty-four (24) months. Successful candidates will receive a monthly stipend.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants for this internship programme must meet the following criteria:

• Be a South African citizen.
• Be an unemployed graduate.
• Be between the ages of 18 and 35 years.
• Hold a relevant National Diploma or Degree from a recognised institution in one of the following fields:
• Internal Audit Department: Internal Auditing, Accounting, Risk Management
• Dispute Management Services Department: Labour Relations, Labour Law, Human Resources
• Finance Department: Accounting, Financial Management, Cost and Management Accounting
• Supply Chain Management Department: Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement Management
• Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Department: Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cyber Security
• Collective Bargaining Services (CBS) Department: Administration, Human Resources
• Have not previously participated in a graduate internship programme funded by a SETA or government department.
• Possess good communication, interpersonal, and computer literacy skills.
• Be willing to work at the ELRC Head Office in Centurion.
• Demonstrate planning and organisational skills.
• Exhibit analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Show professionalism, integrity, and a willingness to learn.
