Opportunity Overview

The National Credit Regulator (NCR) invites applications from eligible South African citizens for its Internship Programme. This is an opportunity to gain valuable work experience within various departments of the NCR.

The internship programme is designed to run for a period of 18 months, providing participants with practical exposure in their respective fields of study. The NCR is committed to developing young talent and integrating them into the professional work environment.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for these internship opportunities, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be an unemployed South African Citizen.
  • Be between the ages of 18 and 35 years.
  • Hold a relevant 3-year tertiary qualification as specified for each role.
  • Have not participated in an internship programme before.
  • No prior work experience is required.

Specific Qualification Requirements per Internship Field:

  • Registrations (Data Capture) Intern: Any Degree/Diploma/certificate (qualification must be 1 year and above)
  • Complaints (paralegal) Intern: National Diploma or Degree in Law, Compliance, BA Law, or equivalent qualification
  • Complaints (Call Centre agent) Intern: Matric and a customer service-related qualification
  • Compliance CB (Legal Intern): BCom/LLB
  • Debt Counselling (Project Management) Intern: National Diploma or Degree in Project Management
  • Debt Counselling (Legal Intern): Legal Qualification (NQF6/7)
  • Finance Intern: Finance qualification (NQF6/7)
  • Registrations (Collections Administrator Intern): Finance qualification (NQF6/7)
  • Research & Statistics Intern: National Diploma or Degree in Economics/Econometrics
  • Investigation & Enforcement (Admin Intern): Admin qualification (NQF6/7)
  • Investigation & Enforcement (Inspectors): LLB qualification (NQF6/7)
  • Investigation & Enforcement (Legal Advisors) Intern: LLB qualification (NQF6/7)
  • Supply Chain Management Intern: National Diploma or Degree in Logistics or Supply Chain
  • Education & Communication Intern: National Diploma or Degree in Journalism/Public Relations
  • Securities & Facilities: National Diploma or Degree in Facilities / Securities / Safety management
  • Risk & Audit Services (Internal Audit Intern): National Diploma or Degree in Internal Audit
  • Risk & Audit Services (Business Management) Intern: National Diploma or Degree in Business Management
  • Executive (Legal) Intern: LLB/BCom Law qualification

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of MS Office
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Planning and organising skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines, multi-task, and work well under pressure
