Opportunity Overview
The Mpumalanga Provincial Treasury is seeking a Chief Engineer for Infrastructure Coordination. This position is based at the Head Office in Mbombela and offers an opportunity to contribute to infrastructure development and oversight within the province.

Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this position (Reference No: MPT/IC/01/2026), applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Minimum three (03) years Bachelor's Degree / BTech / B.Eng / BSc Engineering in Civil Engineering (NQF Level 07).
- Compulsory registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineer or Technologist.
- Proven minimum six (06) years of Civil Engineering experience in Roads, Building Construction, Supervision, and Maintenance.
- A valid driver's license.
- Excellent technical, report writing, and presentation skills.
- Innovative problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work independently at strategic, production, and execution levels.
- Applied knowledge of all relevant built environment legislative/regulatory requirements of national and international standards (CIDB/ISO/SANS).
- Ability and willingness to travel.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- Supporting and monitoring the province’s infrastructure Departments and Municipalities.
- Reviewing, evaluating, and analyzing infrastructure reports and details against industry best-practice norms.
