Opportunity Overview
The Motsepe Foundation is pleased to invite South African students to apply for their comprehensive bursary programme for the 2027 academic year. This opportunity is designed to support academically strong students pursuing undergraduate studies at recognised tertiary institutions within South Africa.
Bursaries will be awarded to students enrolling in critical fields including STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), Accounting, and various Humanities programmes such as Music and LLB. The bursary is extensive, covering essential costs to ensure students can focus on their studies without financial burden.
The support provided includes registration and tuition fees, university-accredited accommodation fees, books and stationery (including a laptop), a meal allowance, a tutor allowance, and vital mental wellness support services.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible:
- Currently in Grade 12 or have successfully completed Grade 12.
- Achieved a minimum average of 70% for core subjects.
- Studying or intend on studying towards an undergraduate degree qualification in one of the listed fields (STEM, Accounting, Humanities including Music and LLB).
- Studying or intend on studying at a recognised tertiary institution within South Africa.
- Proven financial need.
- Preference will be given to students completing Matric in 2026.
