Opportunity Overview

The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Human Settlements, a part of the provincial government, is seeking a qualified professional to join their team in Durban as the Director: Information and Communication Technology Management. This is a senior management role at Salary Level 13, responsible for overseeing key ICT operations.

The Department is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer, giving preference to suitably qualified candidates from designated groups in line with the Employment Equity Act, 1998.

Minimum Requirements

  • A Degree or NQF Level 7 qualification, as recognised by SAQA, in Information Technology and Information Management Systems.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant middle or senior management experience within an IT and IMS environment.
  • Successful completion of the Nyukela Public Service Pre-entry programmes as endorsed by the National School of Government (NSG).
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, the Public Finance Management Act and Treasury Regulations, and the Promotion of Information Act.
  • Extensive knowledge of Global Information Technology processes, the SITA Act, computer hardware and software, and computer operating systems.
  • Familiarity with the Archives Act, Public Service knowledge of COBIT, ITIL, ISO standards, and IT guidelines.
  • Possession of Strategic Planning Skills.
