Opportunity Overview
The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Community Safety and Liaison is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join their team as a Head of Department. This is a five-year fixed-term contract position based at the Head Office in Pietermaritzburg.
This role offers an inclusive remuneration package of R1,885,710 per annum, at Level 15, which includes a 10% non-pensionable Head of Department allowance. Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- A qualification at NQF Level 8 in LLB, Criminology, Public Administration, or Social Sciences, as recognised by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience at a senior management level.
- Computer Literacy.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Demonstrated strong strategic capabilities and leadership skills.
- Significant managerial capability and proven experience in providing strategic leadership and direction within the sector.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of national and provincial legislation.
