As a Cashbook Clerk, you will play an integral part in maintaining the integrity of financial information. You will use your attention to detail and structured approach to keep financial records accurate and up to date, supporting smooth business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Reconcile daily bank statements to the Syspro ERP system, ensuring accurate recording and alignment of all transactions.
- Ensure all credit card transactions are correctly reflected on bank statements each day.
- Capture and maintain daily bank reconciliations with a high level of accuracy.
- Collaborate with retail branches to ensure cash-ups are completed accurately and within required timeframes.
- Investigate and efficiently resolve discrepancies, ensuring all issues are addressed and corrected timeously.
- Maintain accurate and well-organised financial records for reporting and audit requirements.
- Consistently apply strong attention to detail to ensure the reliability and integrity of financial data.

Opportunity Overview
The Jonsson Workwear Finance Team is responsible for safeguarding company assets, managing finances, and ensuring effective cash flow. They are looking for a Credit Controller to join their Debtor’s team in Durban.
This role involves overseeing the collection of customer accounts while ensuring an exceptional customer experience. You will contribute to the financial health of the company by managing accounts and supporting customer interactions.
Minimum Requirements
- Experience using the Syspro ERP system is preferable.
- Computer literate with very good Microsoft Office skills.
- Any previous administration or data capturing experience is advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize workload.
- Fluent in spoken and written English, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Possess an excellent telephone manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate records of all financial activity.
- Ensure accurate customer payments, efficient invoicing, and balancing of accounts.
- Reconcile month-end claims and statements.
- Process all new credit applications.
- Ensure precise and accurate credit checks on new customers.
- Monitor RMAs (Return Material Authorizations).
- Review the validity of Proof of Deliveries (PODs) on the transporters' site.
- Work closely with the Sales team to ensure each customer receives a brilliant experience.
