Opportunity Overview
IStore is offering its Elevate Graduate Programme, a 12-month paid development initiative starting in September 2026. This programme is designed to identify, develop, and accelerate talented graduates who show potential to become future leaders within the company.
The programme aims to select 10 exceptional graduates from South African universities who are enthusiastic about retail, technology, customer experience, and business operations. Participants will gain practical experience through structured rotations across various departments of the IStore business, providing a comprehensive understanding of how a retail organisation operates.
This opportunity serves as a foundation for building a long-term career and provides pathways to future leadership roles within IStore.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Completed a Bachelor's Degree or National Diploma in any field within the last three years.
- Graduated from a recognised South African university.
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Available to commence the programme full-time from 1 September 2026.
- Able to travel regularly to Sandton and other IStore locations as required.
- Demonstrate a strong interest in retail, technology, hospitality, and customer experience.
- Show leadership potential and a willingness to learn.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be energetic, driven, and customer-focused.
- Able to thrive in fast-paced environments.
- Have strong problem-solving and organisational abilities.
- Committed to completing the full 12-month programme.
- Advantageous: Any prior work experience in retail or hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
During the 12-month programme, participants will experience and contribute to various functions across IStore, including:
- Rotating through departments such as Retail Sales, Customer Experience, Store Operations, Business and Commercial Operations, Training and Development, Marketing and Brand Activation, Inventory and Supply Chain, Technical Support, and Leadership and People Management.
- Gaining exposure to the day-to-day operation of a high-performing retail business.
- Learning to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
- Understanding how to drive sales performance and business results.
- Developing fundamentals in leadership and team management.
- Engaging in commercial decision-making processes.
- Contributing to operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.
