Opportunity Overview
The Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport is inviting applications for a Deputy Director position in Demand and Acquisition. This is a senior role within the Finance Branch, based in Johannesburg.
This opportunity is suitable for experienced professionals in Supply Chain Management looking to contribute to the public service at a leadership level. The role offers an all-inclusive annual salary package of R932 292.
Minimum Requirements
- National Diploma (NQF 6) or Bachelor’s Degree (NQF 7) in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing Management, Financial Management, Cost Accounting Management, Logistics Management, or Public Management.
- 3-5 years of experience at an Assistant Director level within Supply Chain Management.
- Knowledge of GPG and GPDRT policies and procedures.
- Understanding of relevant legislation, Public Service Regulations, Public Finance Management Act, Treasury Regulations, PPPFA, and the BEE Act.
- In-depth knowledge of the supply chain management framework and other legislative prescripts governing supply chain management.
- Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint) and experience with BAS, SAP, and SRM systems.
- Knowledge of contract management, including the management of Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Understanding of the National Small Business Act, Service Delivery Innovation Programme, and project management principles.
- Knowledge of grievance and disciplinary procedures.
- Strong leadership, planning, organising, communication (verbal and written), interpersonal relations, and conflict management skills.
- Demonstrated report writing, research, numerical, analytical, presentation, decision-making, and management skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and to analyse and interpret financial information.
- Ability to interpret and present policies and other prescripts.
- Excellent ability to facilitate workshops, provide training, and present policies.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Manage contracts and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Utilise software such as MS Office, BAS, SAP, and SRM.
- Analyse and interpret financial information.
- Interpret and present policies and relevant prescripts.
- Facilitate workshops and provide training.
- Write reports and conduct research.
- Make presentations and decisions.
- Plan and organise tasks.
