Gauteng College of Nursing Nurse Traineeship Programme - Intake 2027

Opportunity Overview

The Gauteng College of Nursing (GCON) invites applications for its Student Nurse Intake 2027 programme. This is an opportunity for dedicated individuals to pursue a Diploma in Nursing.

Successful applicants will undertake their studies at one of the four GCON campuses located in Johannesburg: Ann Latsky Campus, Chris Hani Baragwanath Campus, SG Lourens Campus, or Bonalesedi Campus.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet specific academic criteria, depending on their highest qualification:

• For Senior Certificate holders:
• English HG - D or SG - C
• Biology HG - D or SG - C
• Mathematics HG - D or SG - C
• An M score of 17
• For National Senior Certificate holders:
• English Level 4
• Life Sciences Level 4
• Mathematics Level 4 OR Maths Literacy Level 5
• An APS of 27 or more (Life Orientation counts half the score)
• For National Vocational Certificate holders:
• 50% in Fundamental Subjects (English First Additional Language, Maths/Maths Literacy, Life Orientation)
• 60% in Vocational Subjects (SA Health Care System, Public Health, The Human Body and Mind, Community Oriented Primary Care)
• Current Grade 12 learners: Must meet the National Senior Certificate requirements based on their Grade 11 final results.
