Opportunity Overview

Eskom's Medupi Power Station is offering opportunities through the Youth Employment Service (YES) Programme. This initiative is part of a public-private partnership, led by the Presidency, which aims to address youth unemployment in South Africa.

Eskom is focused on creating work opportunities for unemployed young South Africans, in line with the BBBEE definition. Successful applicants will be offered a 12-month contract to work in various administrative roles within Eskom Operations. This programme provides a chance to gain valuable first work experience in the energy industry. While the programme is linked to Medupi Power Station, placements may occur across different South African provinces.

Minimum Requirements

• Must be a South African Citizen
• Aged between 18 to 34 years old
• Hold a Grade 12 certificate or an equivalent qualification
• Should not have been permanently employed with a single employer continuously for more than 1 year
• Should not be studying full time in the year of employment
• Should not have participated or registered on the YES initiative before

Key Responsibilities

• Function in various administrative roles within Eskom Operations.
• Gain practical work experience in the energy sector.
