Opportunity Overview

The Department of Employment and Labour is offering a challenging opportunity for a SUPERVISOR: CLIENT SERVICES based at the Labour Centre in Durban. This role is crucial for ensuring effective client service delivery within the department.

As a Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the critical first point of contact for clients, ensuring that queries are addressed efficiently and in line with legislative requirements. This position plays a vital role in maintaining high standards of customer interaction and service quality for the Compensation Fund.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Education: An Undergraduate qualification (NQF Level 6) as recognised by SAQA in one of the following fields: Customer Services, Management, Customer Relations, Contact Centre Management, Office Administration Management, Communication, or Marketing.
  • Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of functional experience within a customer care or client services environment.
  • Knowledge:
  • Relevant regulations, laws, and legislations.
  • Public Service Act and Public Service Regulation.
  • Compensation Fund business strategies, goals, and value chain.
  • Directorate goals and performance requirements.
  • PFMA and Treasury Regulations.
  • Customer Service (Batho Pele Principles).
  • Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS).
  • Promotion of Access to Information Act.
  • The Constitution of RSA.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of duties, including:

  • Monitoring and overseeing the help desk at the first point of entry within the COID service.
  • Facilitating customer-driven quality workflow processes.
  • Coordinating and ensuring quality resolution of client queries.
  • Attending to all queries regarding legislations and following up on pending queries.
  • Supervision of staff within the client services team.
