Opportunity Overview
The Department of Employment and Labour is seeking a dedicated Senior Practitioner for Human Resource Management. This is a crucial role within the Provincial Office located in Kimberley, Northern Cape, offered on a three-year contract basis.
This opportunity is designed for an experienced HR professional to contribute significantly to the department's operations, focusing on key human resource functions. The successful candidate will play an important part in ensuring the smooth running of HR processes within the provincial structure.
Minimum Requirements
- An undergraduate qualification in Human Resource Management or Public Management at NQF Level 6, as recognised by SAQA.
- Two (2) years of functional experience in a human resource management environment.
- A Driver's License will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of: Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), Public Service Regulations (PSR), Public Service Act (PSA), Labour Relations Act (LRA), Employment Equity Act (EEA), PSCBC and CCMA Procedures, and Batho Pele Principles.
- Skills in: Negotiation, People Management, Problem Solving, Presentation, Planning and Organising, Communication, Computer Literacy, and Report Writing.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor the Recruitment and Selection process.
- Facilitate the processing and approval of service benefits.
- Provide oversight and monitor the termination of service processes at the province.
- Monitor the establishment and implementation of HR policies.
- Supervise human, financial, and equipment/asset resources within the Division.
What the Work Involves
As a Senior Practitioner, you will be based in the Provincial Office in Kimberley, Northern Cape, where your day-to-day work will centre on core human resource management functions. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire recruitment and selection lifecycle, from monitoring processes to ensuring compliance. A key aspect of your role will involve the facilitation and approval of service benefits for employees, as well as managing and monitoring termination of service procedures within the province.
Furthermore, you will play a vital role in maintaining the organisational establishment and ensuring the effective implementation of HR policies. This position also includes supervisory duties, requiring you to manage human, financial, and physical resources within your division to support the department's objectives.
