Opportunity Overview
The Department of Employment and Labour is seeking to appoint two (2) Assistant Directors for Human Resource Management & Employee Relations. These are crucial three-year contract roles aimed at ensuring the effective implementation and monitoring of HR policies and employee relations within the provincial offices.
Successful candidates will play a vital role in coordinating HR functions and managing employment equity programmes. One position is based in Mmabatho, North West, and the other in Bloemfontein, Free State, offering an opportunity to contribute to public service excellence.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this Assistant Director role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Education: An undergraduate qualification in Human Resource Management, Public Management, or Employee Relations at NQF Level 6, as recognised by SAQA.
- Experience:
- Four (4) years of overall experience.
- Two (2) years of functional experience in a Human Resource Management and Employee Relations environment.
- Two (2) years of experience at a Senior Practitioner level.
- Advantage: A valid Driver's License will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities
The Assistant Director will be responsible for a range of tasks, including:
- Coordinating and monitoring the implementation of Human Resource Management policies across the Province.
- Monitoring and providing expert advice on the implementation of Employee Relations policies and prescripts.
- Coordinating and managing the implementation of Employment Equity programmes.
- Monitoring the administration of service benefits for employees.
- Managing resources, including human capital, finances, and equipment/assets within the Sub-directorate.
