Opportunity Overview

The Durban University of Technology (DUT) invites applications for a Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist position. DUT is a leading university of technology, home to over 34,400 students and approximately 1,700 staff members. This permanent role is situated within the Institutional Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation Division in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. The Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist will contribute to DUT's ENVISION2030 strategy, which is focused on improving lives and livelihoods through being people-centred, engaged, innovative, and entrepreneurial.

Minimum Requirements

Candidates interested in this position must meet the following criteria:

  • Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline with a component in organizational research and evaluation.
  • 3 – 5 years of professional experience in the monitoring and evaluation field.
  • Experience in setting up and managing M&E systems for strategic and operational plans.
  • Experience in monitoring, evaluation, benchmarking, comparative peer studies, situational analysis, and research within the Higher Education sector.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Proficiency in problem/situation analysis and synthesis.
  • Ability to conduct qualitative and quantitative data analysis.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in the business language of the University.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Designing and overseeing the implementation of institutional performance monitoring and evaluation frameworks, tools, templates, and processes.
