This opportunity is within the Faculty of Engineering & The Built Environment, specifically in the Civil Engineering & Geomatics Business Unit.
Minimum Requirements
Candidates applying for either the Associate Professor or Senior Lecturer position must meet specific criteria as detailed below:
For Associate Professor:
- PhD or an equivalent NQF Level 10 qualification in Civil Engineering, coupled with an undergraduate qualification in Civil Engineering.
- At least 7 years of academic and/or professional experience in urban and transportation engineering design.
- Evidence of sustained peer-review publications, with a minimum of 7 DHET-accredited research outputs in the past 3 years.
- Evidence of sustained successful postgraduate supervision, including at least 1 Doctoral and 2 Masters students supervised to completion.
- Professional registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).
For Senior Lecturer:
- PhD or an equivalent NQF Level 10 qualification in Civil Engineering, coupled with an undergraduate qualification in Civil Engineering.
- At least 5 years of academic and/or professional experience in urban and transportation engineering design.
- Evidence of sustained peer-review publications, with a minimum of 3 DHET accredited publications in the past 3 years.
- Evidence of research and postgraduate supervision, including at least 1 Masters student supervised to completion.
- Professional registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).
