Opportunity Overview

The Department of Water and Sanitation is inviting applications for the position of Assistant Director: Africa Bilaterals Relations/Africa Multilaterals. This role is based at the Pretoria Head Office.

This opportunity offers a chance to contribute to international water cooperation, specifically focusing on Africa within the Provincial And Entity Governance and International Cooperation branch. The successful candidate will play a part in managing and enhancing South Africa's international relations regarding water and sanitation on the African continent.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• A relevant NQF level 6 qualification in International Relations or Political Science.
• Five (5) years of experience in international relations.
• Knowledge and understanding of international politics, including the distinction between multilateral and bilateral agreements.
• Knowledge of developing policies and their associated procedures.
• Knowledge and understanding of research principles.
• An understanding of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA).
• Knowledge of bilateral and multilateral management issues.
• Knowledge of equal opportunities and affirmative action guidelines and laws.
• Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems.
• An understanding of departmental policies and procedures.
