Opportunity Overview
Coronation Fund Managers invites exceptional South African students to apply for its Bursary Programme for the 2027 academic year. This opportunity provides comprehensive support to well-rounded individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds who are pursuing an undergraduate commerce-related degree.
The bursary specifically targets students aiming for full-time studies in 2027 across various fields, including Commerce, Data Analysis, IT, Finance, Computer Science, and Software/Computer Engineering. Successful applicants will be expected to commit to a work-back period with Coronation Fund Managers upon completion of their degree, if offered employment.
Minimum Requirements
To be eligible for the Coronation Fund Managers Bursary, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a South African Citizen.
- Be pursuing or intending to pursue any undergraduate commerce-related degree.
- Be a 2026 matric student or on a gap-year after matric in 2025.
- Be registered for full-time studies at a DHET/CHE registered tertiary institution (university, college, etc.) in 2026 and for the 2027 academic year.
- Maintain full-time student status throughout the bursary period without undisclosed paid employment.
- Academic Performance:
- Grade 12: Achieved a Bachelor’s Pass with a minimum average of 75% (or above), including Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy).
- Tertiary Level: If already studying, maintained an academic performance average of 70% (or above) for the latest full academic years (2025 and 2026 so far).
- Preference will be given to students registered as first, second, or third/final year students in the following fields: Commerce Stream, Data Analysis / IT Stream, Finance Stream, Computer Science Stream, and Software/Computer Engineering Stream Degrees.
- Demonstrate strong character, leadership potential, and altruism.
- Preference will be given to previously disadvantaged students.
This opportunity is not open to:
- Students pursuing N4/5/6, Higher Certificates, Diplomas, Advanced Diplomas, Masters, or Doctoral qualifications.
- Students attending TVETs, Community Colleges, Private Colleges, Graduate/Business Schools, International universities, or undertaking distance-learning qualifications (e.g., UNISA).
