Opportunity Overview

Citi South Africa is offering a 4-week paid Winter Internship Programme in Johannesburg. This opportunity is designed for Undergraduate, Honours, and Master’s students ready to apply their academic knowledge in a professional setting.

The programme provides in-office experience within Citi’s Global Markets business. Participants will have the chance to develop their skills, grow professionally, and build valuable industry connections. Successful interns may also be considered for one of Citi’s full-time graduate programmes.

Minimum Requirements

• Must be an Undergraduate, Honours, or Master’s student.
• Possess a strong academic record at both Matric and university level.
• Demonstrate a keen interest in financial markets and current affairs.
• Exhibit a strong work ethic, a positive and proactive mindset, and a desire to learn and succeed.
• All degree disciplines are encouraged to apply. Studies in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Engineering, and Information Technology are beneficial but not essential.
• Desire to develop a deep understanding of the financial markets and banking industry.
• Possess analytical and quantitative skills.
• Have strong communication, planning, and organizational skills.
• Show knowledge of the global or domestic business landscape.
• Commitment to personal growth and career development.

Key Responsibilities

• Gain hands-on work experience as a member of the Global Markets business unit.
• Develop a solid understanding of Citi’s broad range of financial products and services.
• Learn to build financial models and develop corporate finance solutions for clients.
• Conduct research and analyze industry trends to support bespoke advice and value propositions.
• Participate in client development activities.
