Opportunity Overview

The Department of Agriculture is seeking a dedicated Senior Organizational Development Practitioner to join its Human Resources Utilization and Development Directorate. This significant role, based in Pretoria, Gauteng, offers an opportunity to contribute to the department's efficiency and strategic planning.

This position involves specialised work in organisational development, focusing on job analysis, evaluation, and the optimisation of work processes. Successful candidates will play a crucial part in shaping the department's human capital framework and operational effectiveness.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • A National Diploma in Management Services / Operations Management / Production Management, Organizational and Work study qualifications (NQF level 6).
  • A minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Willingness to travel and work extended hours when required.
  • Job-related knowledge of:
  • Public Service and Departmental prescripts / policies.
  • Work study principles and techniques.
  • Job design and job profile compilation.
  • Policies, procedures, and prescripts.
  • Research / analysis.
  • Job analysis and evaluation.
  • Job-related skills in:
  • Planning and organizing.
  • Communication.
  • Interpersonal relations.
  • Accuracy, thoroughness, and timeliness.
  • Facilitation and presentation.
  • Interpretation of policies and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Conducting comprehensive job analyses and job evaluations, including identifying relevant role-players, conducting interviews, benchmarking posts, and presenting recommendations.
  • Providing secretariat services for committees, which includes arranging venues, capturing data, preparing files, and updating databases.
  • Compiling detailed job descriptions by gathering, analysing, and consulting with stakeholders.
  • Undertaking investigations related to organisation and post establishment, involving research, functional analysis, and drafting optimisation structures.
  • Conducting investigations to optimise work procedures and methods, leading to the compilation of reports and recommendations.
