Opportunity Overview

The successful candidate will contribute to various administrative functions within the Cooperatives Directorate, gaining valuable experience across general clerical duties, supply chain support, personnel administration, and financial administration.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this vacancy, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Education: Possession of a Grade 12 certificate.
  • Experience: No prior experience is required.
  • Job-related knowledge:
  • Clerical duties and practices.
  • Ability to capture data and operate a computer.
  • Understanding of collecting statistics.

Key Responsibilities

The successful Administration Clerk will be responsible for a range of duties, including:

  • Providing general clerical support services.
  • Recording, organising, storing, capturing, and retrieving correspondence and data.
  • Updating registers and statistics.
  • Handling routine enquiries.
  • Making photocopies and sending or receiving facsimiles.
  • Distributing documents and packages to various stakeholders.
  • Maintaining the filing system for the component.
  • Typing letters and other correspondence as required.
  • Maintaining the incoming and outgoing document register.
  • Providing supply chain clerical support services, including liaising with stakeholders, obtaining quotations, completing procurement forms for standard office items, and managing stock control of office stationery.
  • Maintaining the asset register of the component.
  • Providing personnel administration clerical support, including maintaining leave, personnel, and attendance registers, and arranging travelling and accommodation.
  • Providing financial administration support, including capturing and updating expenditure, checking subsistence and travel claims, and handling telephone accounts and petty cash.
