Opportunity Overview
The Special Investigating Unit (SIU) is an independent statutory body tasked with investigating allegations of corruption, malpractice, and maladministration within government departments, municipalities, and State-Owned Entities. A key part of the SIU's work involves recovering financial losses suffered by State institutions.
This opportunity invites suitably qualified and experienced professionals to join the SIU's team. The successful applicant will play a vital role in identifying and pursuing business development opportunities, contributing to the SIU's mission of fighting corruption and expanding its impact across South Africa.
Minimum Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Law or a related NQF 8 qualification.
- A relevant postgraduate degree in management or an equivalent will be advantageous.
- At least six to eight years of Business Development experience in a similar role within the Public Sector.
- Of the required experience, at least four years must have been at a management level.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, and pursue viable business development opportunities for the SIU.
- Develop and implement strategies to expand the SIU’s footprint nationally.
- Manage the receipt, assessment, and processing of business development-related allegations.
- Proactively promote the SIU’s service offerings to achieve set business development targets.
- Oversee business development planning and its implementation.
- Conduct active marketing of the SIU’s services.
- Provide oversight for Business Development Case registration and processing.
- Implement quality assurance processes within the business development function.
- Manage reporting, document control, and stakeholder relations.
- Handle budget and staff management for the business development team.
