Opportunity Overview

The South African Revenue Services (SARS) is seeking dynamic and skilled individuals to join their team as Compliance Debt Collectors specializing in Estates. This is achieved by fostering voluntary compliance and making it easy for taxpayers and traders to fulfil their legal obligations.

The successful candidates will contribute to the effectiveness and efficiency in the management of taxpayer segments, specifically Estates Debt. This role requires individuals passionate about service delivery, with a high level of enthusiasm and accountability in a fast-paced environment.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Option 1:
  • A Higher Certificate (NQF 5) in Taxation, Debt Management, or Estates.
  • 3 years of experience in a tax debt management or estates management environment.
  • Option 2:
  • A Senior Certificate (NQF 4).
  • 4 years of experience in a tax debt management or estates management environment.

For both options, knowledge of estates, including their application and guidance, is essential. Candidates should also demonstrate strong accountability, analytical thinking, attention to detail, and conceptual ability, with the capability to work effectively with clients.

Key Responsibilities

The successful Compliance Debt Collector (Estates) will be responsible for:

  • Effectively processing allocated estate debt management cases.
  • Working within specific turnaround times.
  • Operating in line with relevant policies and procedures.
  • Dealing with taxpayers and their accounts in a professional manner, upholding SARS values.
