Opportunity Overview
The Shoprite Group of Companies offers a graduate programme for Distribution Centre Trainee Managers within its Supply Chain division. This programme provides a comprehensive experience, allowing participants to rotate through various departments.
The intent of the programme is to thoroughly integrate graduates into the business, equipping them with essential knowledge, skills, and exposure vital for success in the supply chain field. Opportunities are available in locations including Cape Town, Centurion, Bloemfontein, Gqeberha, and Durban.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must possess one of the following qualifications or a related field:
- BCom Supply Chain Management
- BCom Logistics Management
- BEng Industrial Engineering
- BCom / BSc Operations Research
Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be involved in:
- Rotating through various Supply Chain and Distribution Centre functions to gain end-to-end operational knowledge.
- Learning and applying best practices in warehousing, logistics, inventory management, and distribution.
- Analysing operational data and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and service levels.
- Participating in continuous improvement initiatives and business projects.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support operational and strategic objectives.
- Developing leadership skills through coaching, mentoring, and practical management experience.
- Monitoring compliance with health and safety, quality, and operational standards.
- Supporting the delivery of customer service through efficient Supply Chain operations.
- Building strong relationships with stakeholders across the business.
- Contributing innovative ideas that drive operational excellence and business performance.
