As a Graduate Trainee, you will play a key role in developing a more consistent and effective On Premise POS ecosystem. This involves understanding outlet and channel needs, coordinating with suppliers, and tracking deployment, standards, and impact. You'll gain hands-on experience in various aspects of marketing and sales support.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this graduate trainee position, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Hold a Commercial or Marketing degree, or a related qualification (must be a recent graduate).
- Demonstrate a strong interest in On Premise and trade marketing.
Key Responsibilities
The Graduate Trainee will be involved in a range of activities, including:
- POS Strategy, Development & Standards:
- Support the annual planning and development of the national POS portfolio across various On Premise channels (e.g., bars, clubs, HORECA, QSR, fitness).
- Translate channel and outlet needs into practical POS briefs, adapting global assets for local use while maintaining brand standards.
- Coordinate the development, production, and rollout of physical POS with agencies, regional printers, and suppliers.
- Maintain clear specifications, artwork, stock, and deployment information for field teams.
- Digital Assets & Content:
- Support the creation and localization of digital POS and campaign assets (static, motion, video formats).
- Maintain the approved digital asset library and related content on platforms like DIPO.
- Work with marketing and field stakeholders to improve the adoption of digital tools and approved artwork.
- Trade Marketing Execution:
- Support the planning and delivery of trade marketing initiatives to strengthen visibility, customer value, and consumer engagement.
- Coordinate with Key Account Managers (KAMs) and regional teams to ensure POS is matched to outlet opportunities and correctly deployed.
- Help communicate plans, standards, and guidance to sales and field teams, and gather feedback after rollout.
- Insights, Budget & Continuous Improvement:
- Track POS requests, production, budgets, stock, deployment, and execution status using defined tools and processes.
- Assess reach, usage, and effectiveness using sales, distribution, and execution data, highlighting gaps and recommending improvements.
- Identify opportunities to simplify processes, reduce waste, improve regional coverage, and make investments more measurable.
- Share clear project updates with stakeholders and manage risks through to completion.
What the Work Involves
This role is based in Cape Town and involves working collaboratively to enhance RedBull's presence in various on-premise environments. Day-to-day, you will be supporting the development and implementation of marketing and commercial tools. This includes coordinating with internal teams such as On Premise Marketing, regional field teams, and Key Account Managers, as well as external partners like agencies, printers, and customers.
You'll be instrumental in managing the lifecycle of point-of-sale materials, from initial strategy and briefing to production, distribution, and tracking their effectiveness. The work environment will involve detailed planning, data analysis to assess performance, and active communication to ensure consistent execution of brand standards and marketing initiatives. You will be responsible for helping to ensure that the right tools are available and correctly used in various outlets.

What an internship actually is
An internship is a fixed-term work-experience placement for someone who already holds a qualification. Unlike a learnership, it does not award a new qualification — its purpose is to convert a certificate, diploma or degree into the experience that entry-level adverts keep asking for. In the public service these run for a set term and are generally not renewable.
How internships work: the week, the qualification and where it leads →Watch out for this
Government internships are usually once-only: having completed one, you may be ineligible for another. Check the advert's exclusion clause before applying if you have interned before.
