Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum qualification: Grade 12 / Matric
  • South African citizen with a valid ID
  • Aged 18–35 (youth programme)
  • Currently unemployed and not on another funded programme
  • Clear criminal record
  • Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science
  • N2–N3 in a relevant trade advantageous

Key Responsibilities

During this apprenticeship you will:

  • Installing, calibrating and maintaining field instrumentation
  • Fault-finding on control loops, transmitters and PLC-linked devices
  • Reading P&IDs and instrument loop diagrams
  • Applying permit-to-work and isolation procedures
  • Completing N-courses and logbook hours toward the Trade Test

Stipend & Benefits

Successful candidates receive a monthly stipend of R6 000 – R7 000 / month for the duration of the programme, on-the-job mentorship, and a nationally recognised NQF Level 4 qualification on successful completion. On completion you will be eligible to write the relevant Trade Test to qualify as an artisan.
