Minimum Requirements

To be considered for these opportunities, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Application Form: Complete the New Amended Z83 Form (81/971431), which became effective on 01 January 2021. All fields on the form are compulsory, and the declaration part must be signed, dated, and initialled on the first page. The Z83 Form can be obtained from any Public Service Department or the DPSA Website (www.dpsa.gov.za).
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV): Provide a recently updated CV containing full personal details, qualifications, current and previous experience (listed in date order), and the names and contact details of three referees.
  • Foreign Qualifications: If you possess a foreign qualification, you will be required to furnish an evaluation certificate from the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) only if you are shortlisted for a post.
  • Certified Documents: Only shortlisted candidates will be required to submit certified documents on or before the day of the interview.
  • Senior Management Service (SMS) Posts: For applicants seeking SMS posts, a mandatory "Senior Management Pre-entry Programme Certificate" (Nyukela) is required. This certificate is obtainable via the link: https://www.thensg.gov.za. Failure to produce this certificate will result in non-recommendation for appointment.

Important for Shortlisted Candidates:

  • Shortlisted candidates will be expected to be available for an interview process on a date, time, and place determined by the Department.
  • Previous background and reference checks will be conducted through your contactable referees.
  • Personnel suitability checks, including criminal record checks, will be undertaken for shortlisted candidates.
  • For SMS posts, shortlisted candidates will be subjected to a technical exercise, an interview, and psychometric assessments to evaluate cognitive capabilities, behavioural preferences, emotional intelligence, and integrity. All SMS candidates will also undertake two pre-entry assessments, one practical exercise and one Integrity (ethical conduct) Assessment.
