The Fibre Processing Manufacturing Sector Education And Training Authority (FP&M SETA) is looking for skilled Independent Fraud Investigators. These external vacancies are a key part of the Governance, Risk, Compliance and Legal Department, specifically within the Monitoring and Evaluation Division.

This important role supports the FP&M SETA's commitment to good governance and ethical conduct. Opportunities are available across various provinces, including Northwest, Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Kwa Zulu Natal, Limpopo, Free State, Eastern Cape, and Northern Cape.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• A minimum three-year qualification in Forensic Investigation, Policing, Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice, or Criminology.
• Experience in conducting fraud investigations, forensic investigations, misconduct investigations, corruption investigations, or high-risk reviews.
• Possession of a valid Driver’s License.
• Have own transport (mobile).
• Own work tools, including a laptop, cellphone, and data.
• Good written, verbal communication, and reporting skills.
• Strong organisation and time management skills.
• A pro-active, positive, and enthusiastic approach to work.
• The ability to work independently.
• Advantageous: Professional certifications in forensic investigations, fraud examination, anti-corruption, compliance, or related disciplines.
• Advantageous: Understanding and experience in the SETA regulatory environment.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidates will be responsible for:

• Conducting forensic investigations into allegations of fraud, corruption, theft, maladministration, irregular expenditure, misconduct, and other unethical conduct.
• Performing high-risk reviews and fact-finding investigations as assigned by FP&M SETA.
• Gathering, analysing, and evaluating documentary, electronic, and testimonial evidence.
• Conducting interviews with complainants, witnesses, and subjects of investigations.
• Assessing control weaknesses and identifying fraud risk indicators.
• Preparing comprehensive investigation reports with factual findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
• Providing expert forensic support during disciplinary hearings, criminal proceedings, and other governance processes where required.
• Assisting with the quantification of losses and recommendations for recovery where applicable.
• Maintaining strict confidentiality regarding all investigations and information obtained.
• Attending planning meetings, case review meetings, and briefings as required.
• Performing any other forensic and investigative duties assigned by Management.
