Opportunity Overview

The Department of Employment and Labour in Rustenburg is seeking a dedicated individual for the role of SUPERVISOR: COID CLIENT SERVICES. This vital position is based at the Rustenburg Labour Centre and focuses on enhancing client service delivery related to the Compensation Fund (COID).

This role offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to public service by overseeing critical client interaction points and ensuring efficient, customer-focused operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining high standards of service and managing staff within the COID client services environment.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Education: An undergraduate qualification (NQF level 6) recognised by SAQA in one of the following fields: Customer Services, Management, Customer Relations, Contact Centre Management, Office Administration Management, Communication, or Marketing.
  • Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of functional experience in a Customer Care or Client Service environment.
  • Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of relevant regulations, laws, and legislation; the Public Service Act and Regulation; Compensation Fund business strategies and goals; the Compensation Fund value chain; Directorate goals and performance requirements; PFMA and Treasury Regulations; Customer Service (Batho Pele Principles); Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS); Promotion of Access to Information Act; and The Constitution of RSA.
  • Skills: Demonstrated abilities in Coaching and Mentoring, Conflict Management, Critical and Innovation Thinking, Inspiring Commitment, People Management, Performance and Oversight, Programme/Project Management, Quality Assurance, Service Delivery Innovation, and Stakeholder Development & Relations.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of duties, including:

  • Monitoring and overseeing the help desk, which serves as the first point of entry for COID services.
  • Facilitating customer-driven quality workflow processes.
  • Coordinating and ensuring the quality resolution of client queries.
  • Attending to all queries regarding legislation and following up on pending queries.
  • Supervising staff within the COID client services unit.

What the Work Involves

As the SUPERVISOR: COID CLIENT SERVICES, you will be based at the Rustenburg Labour Centre, primarily overseeing the help desk where clients first interact with COID services. Your daily tasks will involve ensuring efficient, customer-focused workflow processes, addressing and resolving client queries, particularly those related to legislation, and following up on unresolved matters. A key part of your role will also be the direct supervision of staff, guiding them to provide high-quality service and uphold the principles of Batho Pele.
