Opportunity Overview
The Department of Employment and Labour is seeking a dedicated Deputy Director for Labour Centre Operations in Klerksdorp. This leadership role is crucial for managing the effective delivery of the Department's mandate and ensuring the smooth functioning of the Labour Centre.
The successful candidate will play a key role in representing the Department in critical forums, implementing service delivery improvements, and managing all centre resources. This is an opportunity to contribute directly to public service and labour market operations.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: A Three-year National Diploma (NQF 6) or an undergraduate Bachelor Degree (NQF 7) in one of the following fields: Financial Management, Accounting, Human Resource Management, Labour Relations, Social Sciences, Engineering Sciences, Public Administration / Management, Business Administration/Management, Operations Management, or Project Management. Alternatively, a Three (3) years’ legal qualification is accepted.
- Experience:
- Five (5) years’ total experience.
- Two (2) years of this experience must be at an Assistant Director level.
- Three (3) years of this experience must be functional experience in labour market operations or a service delivery environment.
- Knowledge: Public Financial Management Act, Departmental Policies and Procedures, Public Service Act and Regulations, Batho Pele Principles, Service Delivery Improvement Plan, Treasury regulations, Supply chain management processes, Asset management, and All labour legislations.
- Skills: Management, Computer Skills, Presentation Skills, Communication (both verbal and written), Interpersonal, Conflict management, Leadership, Project management, Diversity management, Change management, Monitoring and Evaluation.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the service delivery objectives as per the mandate of the Department of Employment and Labour.
- Represent the Department in key stakeholder forums, including interdepartmental structures of government and municipalities, adhering to the District Development Model (DDM).
- Implement and manage service delivery improvement interventions.
- Manage all resources of the Labour Centre.
What the Work Involves
In this role at the Klerksdorp Labour Centre, you will oversee the core service delivery objectives of the Department of Employment and Labour. This involves active participation and representation of the Department in various stakeholder forums, including government and municipal structures as guided by the District Development Model. A significant part of the work will be dedicated to implementing and managing initiatives that enhance service delivery, alongside the comprehensive management of all resources within the Labour Centre.
