Minimum Requirements
- A Master’s degree in Hospitality or any Hospitality-related qualification (e.g., Food and Beverage/Professional Cookery/Accommodation Management).
- An undertaking to embark on a Doctorate in an appropriate field of study.
- At least 3 years’ teaching experience at tertiary level, OR 2 years’ experience in a relevant professional field.
- Preference will be given to applicants who are registered for a Doctoral degree in Hospitality or a Hospitality-related qualification.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach and examine Hospitality and Catering-related modules.
- Teach, supervise, and examine undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Develop teaching and learning materials, including for online delivery.
- Contribute towards the Department’s research plan.
- Participate in agreed departmental and faculty projects or committees.
- Undertake duties as assigned by the Head of Department.
What the Work Involves
As a Lecturer in Hospitality, your daily work will primarily involve delivering lectures and conducting examinations for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. You will be responsible for creating engaging learning materials, including resources for online learning platforms, to support student success.
Beyond classroom duties, you will supervise students' academic progress and research efforts. Your role will also include contributing to the department's research initiatives and participating in various faculty projects and committees, all while reporting to the Head of Department within the academic setting of the Hotel School on the Ritson Campus.
