Opportunity Overview

The Gauteng Department of Health offers community-service and graduate internships for health-sciences graduates in public hospitals and clinics across the province.

This internship is based in Pretoria, Gauteng (Gauteng) and falls under the HWSETA — Health & Welfare, leading to a NQF Level 7 qualification. A monthly stipend is provided: R7 000 – R9 000 / month.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum qualification: Degree (NQF 7)
• South African citizen with a valid ID
• Aged 18–35 (youth programme)
• Currently unemployed and not on another funded programme
• Clear criminal record
• Relevant completed health-sciences qualification
• HPCSA registration where applicable

Key Responsibilities

During this internship you will:

• Supporting clinical and administrative functions under supervision
• Assisting with patient records and data capture
• Participating in quality-improvement and infection-control initiatives
• Supporting community health outreach programmes
• Completing the structured internship logbook

Stipend & Benefits

Successful candidates receive a monthly stipend of R7 000 – R9 000 / month for the duration of the programme, on-the-job mentorship, and a nationally recognised NQF Level 7 qualification on successful completion.
