Opportunity Overview

The Clicks Group is inviting applications for Shop Assistant / Cashier positions. This role is crucial for ensuring a positive shopping experience for every customer by providing efficient service and maintaining store operations.

Successful candidates will support daily retail activities, including customer interactions at the point of sale, handling transactions, and assisting with merchandising tasks to keep shelves stocked and appealing. Minimum Requirements

  • Essential: Grade 12
  • Desirable:
  • Mathematics with a minimum of 50% at Grade 12 level.
  • English with a minimum of 50% at Grade 12 level.
  • Experience in a customer-facing role within a retail or FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) store environment.
  • Skills and Competencies:
  • Basic maths calculations
  • Understanding of merchandising and promotions principles
  • Knowledge of stock management procedures

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute all operational activities at the point of sale efficiently and accurately.
  • Maintain high levels of accuracy when scanning merchandise and collecting payments, including processing ClubCard rewards.
  • Ensure the safe handling of cash at all times.
  • Proactively promote the Clicks ClubCard and enrol new members to achieve participation targets.
  • Inform customers about current promotions to support sales and enhance their shopping experience.
  • Deliver superior customer service by acting as a brand ambassador, being visible, and offering a friendly, professional service.
  • Execute and maintain all merchandising and general housekeeping duties according to store standards.
  • Support the Group’s vision by living and driving company values.
  • Maintain updated knowledge on products, ranges, promotions, and events to provide accurate customer information.
