Opportunity Overview
Boland TVET College is seeking a dedicated Facilitator for the Occupational Certificate in Early Childhood Development (ECD) Practitioner. This is a fixed-term position based at the Worcester campus, playing a crucial role in guiding future ECD professionals.
The successful candidate will be responsible for both classroom facilitation and overseeing the practical workplace components of the qualification. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced facilitator who is passionate about education and development in the ECD sector.
Minimum Requirements
- ECD qualification at NQF level 5 or above.
- Facilitation experience in Early Childhood Development (ECD), Educare, or Education and Development.
- Minimum of 3 years of facilitation experience.
- Valid driver’s license and own transport.
- Knowledge of the TVET sector.
- Knowledge of Occupational Training.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate Knowledge and Practical Modules of the QCTO Occupational Certificate: ECD Practitioner.
- Oversee the workplace component of the qualification and provide support to students.
- Integrate National Curriculum Framework (NCF) principles into training delivery.
- Provide support to students in Knowledge, Practical, and Workplace aspects of the qualification.
- Set up, monitor, and maintain student portfolios.
- Conduct Summative Knowledge Assessments.
- Conduct Practical Assessments.
- Conduct an introductory meeting at each workplace.
- Conduct all aspects of assessment, including marking and evaluations.
What the Work Involves
As an ECD Practitioner Facilitator, you will be guiding students through their learning journey for the Occupational Certificate. This involves delivering both theoretical knowledge and practical skills modules. A significant part of your role will be to visit student workplaces, conducting introductory meetings, overseeing their practical application of skills, and offering support to ensure they meet the qualification standards.
You will be responsible for setting up and meticulously maintaining student portfolios, as well as conducting various assessments to evaluate their progress and competence, including practical observations and knowledge evaluations. The position is based at the Worcester campus, but will require travel to various workplaces. Your working hours will be structured according to the training schedule, with a maximum of 80-100 hours per month. Remuneration is R277.00 per hour, plus R150 per site visit per student as required.
