Reliance Marema is the founder and editor of SetaJobs, and is responsible for every listing and guide the site publishes. He started SetaJobs because of how South African learnerships, internships and government vacancies are actually advertised: scattered across DPSA circulars, SETA websites and PDF adverts, written in dense HR language, and often discovered by the people who need them only after the closing date has passed.

His editorial method is built on primary sources. Every listing on SetaJobs traces back to an official document — a DPSA circular, a SETA or departmental website, or an employer’s own advert — and the details that decide an application (closing date, minimum requirements, stipend, where and how to apply) are captured from that source rather than copied from another job board. Listings are marked closed once their deadline passes, and guides are checked against the same official documents before publication and updated when the rules change.

Reliance reads every correction and scam report sent to the site’s inbox, and updates or removes the affected page once a report checks out. SetaJobs never charges job seekers, does not accept payment to publish a listing, and labels sponsored placements as such — the full process is set out in the fact-checking policy.
